Hyderabad yet again fell under the gloom of heavy rains and thunderstorm with several areas in Hyderabad remain flooded following heavy rain in the city last evening. Eight flights were diverted and roads were waterlogged as heavy rains of 10-12 cm hit the city.
As per the official reports, two people have been reported missing after they were swept away by the strong currents in low-lying areas. K Purushottam, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Vanasthalipuram said while the rescue team is searching for them.

Meanwhile, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) warned the citizen with heavy rains are expected to lash the city in the last 24 hours. “Heavy rainfall is expected to continue over the city. Monsoon emergency teams are on the field. Citizens are advised to stay indoors unless needed. Dial @GHMCOnline control room on 040-21111111, 040-29555500 for any rain-related issues and assistance,” Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) mayor Vijayalaxami Gadwal tweeted.
Social media platforms, on the other hand, are flooded with photos and videos of inundated city roads. A video of people showing people sitting at a restaurant in Old City with their ankles covered in floodwater is going viral on social media.
