Even days after the city was left shaken with incessant rains with a record of around 29.8 cm of rainfall, Hyderabad continued to record flood-related fatalities. Into details, an 80-year-old woman who went out for a walk accidentally slipped into an open at Gaddi Annaram division on Tuesday morning.
Upon information, NDRF team, Hyderabad police and GHMC officials rushed to the spot while the rescue operation went on for a few hours. However, the efforts went in vain as the body of the woman who was identified as Saroja, a resident of Sharada Nagar was recovered at Chaitanyapuri and was sent for autopsy.
The incident raised a wave of anguish amongst the local with this being the third such incident after 12-year-old girl Sumedha drowned to death in sewage in Neredmet.
