Hours after the shocking incident of 12-year-old girl Sumedha who drowned to death in sewage in Neredmet, open drains in Hyderabad claimed yet another life in Saroornagar. 45-year-old Naveen Kumar who has swept away with a heavy current crossing a stream of water in Tapovan colony was found dead on Monday.
Into details, Naveen lost his balance and was swept away into the lake on Sunday while he was trying to help a two-wheeler cross a stream of water in Tapovan colony that had increased in intensity due to heavy rains in the city.
Footages of Naveen struggling to find a foothold as he stands in neck-deep water has surfaced online while a group of local were seen unable to extend any assistance.
Naveen went missing from Sunday while three teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were pressed to trace him. However, grief gloomed the city with the team recovering Naveen’s body on Monday evening. Naveen is an electrician by profession and is survived by a wife and two kids.
In yet another similar incident, an amputated human leg has been found in a drain at Champapet in Hyderabad on Saturday evening. Residents of Reddy colony in Champapet saw the left leg of a human floating in the overflowing drain.
The police suspected it to be amputated as a part of surgery and have been tossed away in the drain by the nearby hospitals.
