In the wake of increasing road accidents where 60-70 per cent of victims are bikers, Hyderabad police on Saturday announced the new set of traffic rules which came as a jolt to many two-wheelers in the city. The traffic authorities have made it compulsory for even pillion riders to wear helmets.
If the riders are seen flunking the rule for the first time, the rider’s license will be revoked for three months and will be cancelled permanently if spotted without the helmet for the second time. Hyderabad traffic police who are extensively campaigning to increase the awareness among the two-wheelers released a short video on Friday which is going viral on social media.
