After getting mired by the ‘Godse’ controversy, BJP leader and MP Pragya Singh Thakur has come down for apology in Lok Sabha on Friday. Upon receiving rife criticism from all ends of the political spectrum, Pragya has however stated that she would give an explanation in Friday’s session defending her remarks made on Thursday. However, the BJP leader who stood up for the clarification was faced by utter chaos in the House of Parliament. The opposition leaders from the parties TMC, DMC, BJP and Congress started raising slogans ‘Down Down Godse’ and ‘Mahatma Gandhi ki Jai’. Amidst that, Pragya Thakur apologised saying – “I am sorry if my statements hurt anyone, but I would also like to say that my statements were misquoted.” On this note, Pragya condemned being referred by a member of the House as a terrorist. “It is an attack on my dignity. No charges against me have been proven in court,” she added. This has become a trending topic on social media stating it as a half-hearted apology.
