The peaceful protests by Basara IIIT students have reached seven days. Students continue to worry about the resolution of 12 demands. Police are currently not allowing the leaders of political parties and student unions who are trying to come to support students on campus. Repeated consultations on behalf of the government with students already concerned at Basara IIIT have gone in vain with no result.
In this regard, the infuriated students under the auspices of the TNSF Telugu Youth, rallied towards the residence of Education Minister Sabita Indra Reddy, demanding that the students’ problems be resolved. They said that their support for the peaceful protests by IIIT students would be as long as their problems were resolved.
The minister responded immediately and demanded justice for IIIT employees. She urged the state CM KCR and IT Minister KTR to visit Basara IIIT. They demanded the relevant authorities to immediately respond and confirm the appointment of a permanent Vice-Chancellor.
Police have blocked the protester who tried to invade Sabitha’s house. Police arrested the protesters and took them to the Banjara Hills police station in Hyderabad.
