In what can be called a double shock to BJP MP Sujana Chowdary, the former union minister was stopped by the immigration officials from boarding a flight to the US at the Delhi airport on Friday. In the line of the statement issued by the airport authorities, Sujana Chowdary has been under a lookout notice relating to a bank fraud case.
Meanwhile, the MP who cancelled all his plans has approached the Telangana High Court seeking the withdrawal of lookout notice, alleging that he was illegally stopped by the officials. The court after hearing the arguments gave a two-week relief to the MP to visit New York.
It can be recalled that the BJP leader has allegedly defaulted payment of Rs.400 crore to Bank of India and had issued a notice for auctioning his properties after Sujana failed to respond to demand notices for repayment. CBI, on the hand, conducted flash rides on the properties of Sujana and seized his Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz cars.
The Mauritius Commercial Bank Ltd, as well, had approached the Hyderabad High Court against Sujana Universal, another company promoted by the minister, on grounds that the company had defaulted on a Rs 92 crore loan it had availed through its subsidiary.
