With about 2,46,549 cases so far, India surpassed the tally of Spain bringing new concerns for the health authorities in the country. With this, India has become the fifth-worst coronavirus-hit country in the world while the country on Saturday recording single-day spike with about 10,000 cases in 24 hours.
According to the data from global health experts, Spain, the worst-hit European country, registered 2,40,978 cases. Now, only the US, Brazil, Russia and the UK have more cases than India. The fact that India recorded this feat surpassing Italy and then Spain in less than 24 hours has shaken the grounds of the health care department while the experts speculated worst to come in the wake of relaxed lockdown norms.
This came in the wake of the ministry announcing that the country has been recording less infection rate. Meanwhile, Union health ministry claims a total of 1,14,073 recoveries with 4,611 COVID-19 patients having been cured in the last 24 hours.
