Handling the pandemic amidst the plummeting economy has come as a challenge to the state governments especially with the first term chief ministers. But this is not the same with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy who secured the ‘3rd Best Performing CM in the country’ in one of the recent surveys.

In the latest survey conducted by latest India Today -Karvy Insights Mood of the Nation (MOTN) based on the votes between July 15, 2020, and July 27, 2020, APCM YS Jagan scored 11 per cent votes following Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath(24 per cent votes) and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal(15 per cent votes).

This survey came as a boost to the Jagan government which has been struggling to cope up with the exponentially increasing corona cases in the state. Despite the lauds from across the nation over the number of tests done per day, the state government is under the critics’ scanner over ineffective containment strategies.
Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao secured the ninth position. A roll of controversies over handling the pandemic, discrepancies in the COVID numbers and allegation of backing the private hospitals that are looting corona patients seem to end up rather a young CM Jagan beating KCR in ranks.
While the Delhi based market research agency conducts this survey on a face to face interview every year, all interviews this year were conducted telephonically using a standard structured questionnaire in the view of corona pandemic.
