Work-from-home culture is the major tweak that COVID lockdown has brought across the world. While all the tech giants shifted to work-from-home, number of companies has introduced their own rules and regulations to regularise the culture to the employees.
In a recent development, reports have it that the Government of India is looking to legislate a comprehensive framework for employees regarding working from home. Fixing work hours for employees and payment of additional expenses incurred by them towards electricity and internet usage because of working from home are a few of the options being considered to include in the framework.
It is in January that the government had formalised the working from home for service sectors by passing a standing order. Earlier it was only IT and service sectors that allowed work-from-home for employees, but with the new framework which is under consideration, the culture will be regularised across all sectors in the country.
