Crime Bureau, Tolivelugu: The Telangana we accomplished after the decades-long bloody fight is now facing the demons of corruption that have destroyed the nutrition kits of poor pregnant women and children. It is reported that the total is Rs 1200 Crores. It seems that the reason for this is the work ethics of the concerned health department commission and officials. For the welfare of poor pregnant women and infants, the Center provides funds to the states for nutrition. In all the states this scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Women and Child Welfare. But in Telangana, these responsibilities have been assigned to the Health Department. Allegations are being heard that the health department, which is very famous, is being sabotaged by the relevant TSMIDC officials and the health commissioner for some Tamil businessmen.
In the name of providing nutrition to pregnant women, the Telangana government has decided to provide 2 lakh 50 thousand kits to 9 districts under the pilot project. However, as per the earlier plan, representatives of Tamil Nadu companies Anita Tex Cot, Balaji Corporation, Jai Vilas, and NCCF Chennai entered into a fraudulent agreement with Horlicks Company. Annamalai, the state president of the BJP in Tamil Nadu, has complained several times to the state government about these companies. A video talking about these has gone viral on social media. But to make a profit for these Tamil Nadu companies, some government leaders in Telangana took initiative and convinced the authorities to make regulations and called tenders to suit them only. As a part of that, some government leaders, under the leadership of prominent builder Tamil Thambi Shekhar and his company representatives joined Horlicks company representatives and made an agreement in a five-star hotel in the city. As expected, Horlicks company has given authorization only to Anita Tex Cot, Balaji Corporation, Jai Vilas, and NCCF Chennai companies.
Due to the above-mentioned four companies having experience in supplying nutrition kits, the project was awarded to Tamil companies through changes in the tender rules to prevent the companies involved in any other schemes in Telangana from getting experience. The people of Telangana should understand that the lobbying of Tamilian Shekhar, the connivance of the government officials, and the collusion of the officials called the tenders only for them. As per the rules of tenders, at least three companies have to be qualified, so Horlicks has given authorization to these four companies and paved the way for them to participate in the tender process. Other Telangana companies, NGOs, and others have cleared the route without participating.
Telangana companies and others have repeatedly submitted petitions to the Commissioner of Health regarding this tender, but they have ignored it. They say that it is proof of the corrupt effort made by the Tamilians along with the government officials. As part of the corruption attempt, this tender was limited to only 9 districts in the name of the pilot project. The reason behind this is that if a large amount is called at once, there will be problems, as the number of pregnant women in 9 districts is only two lakh and 50 thousand, everyone will think that this is a 50 crore project, so that no one will oppose them. According to the original statistics, it seems that the plan is to finalize these Tamil companies and rob the entire scheme of 1200 crores through renewal by calling tenders for only 10 percent of the number of pregnant women and babies in 33 districts of Telangana. It is reported that many social activists and businessmen from Telangana have approached various central investigation agencies. Also, the Land e-Governance and Education Corporation approached the High Court challenging the tendering process. The Telangana High Court has issued a non-liquor order not to proceed with the tender process till the final verdict is issued. Many want the government to take responsible measures so that corrupt people do not own this scheme which provides nutritious food to poor pregnant women and babies.
