Many farmers in Telangana were affected by the unseasonal rains. Opposition groups called out on the government to support them. It was earlier announced that Prajashanti Party president KA Paul Sirisilla would visit the farmers in this regard, and he did exactly what he told.
On the way, police intercepted Paul in Jakkapur, Siddipet district. ‘You don’t have permission, you should return’, said the police officers. However, Paul tried to convince them and go to Sirisilla to interact with the people. At this exact point in time, the TRS members reached there. While Paul was talking to the police, a TRS member approached and slapped him on the cheek.
Paul was devastated by the accident. His followers and police detained the attacker. Police dispersed both sides before the situation turned tense. Paul was asked to get back into his vehicle and leave the place on immediate notice.
KA Paul was incensed at the attitude of the police. He responded vehemently against the police troops, calling them the TRS activists in police uniforms. He was incensed asking out whether the salaries were being paid to the cops by the TRS party or coming from the government. Paul has been criticizing KCR led government in the state, primarily focusing on KCR as a target for a few days. It was against this backdrop that the TRS leader attacked.
