Arrests and threats have become common wherever Minister KTR goes. KTR recently toured Mahabubnagar district. Opposition leaders carried out pre-emptive arrests without blocking the convoy en route. Tensions were particularly high in Kodangal.
Some of the Congress leaders opposed the minister’s tour and took to the roads, the police had to eventually take them into custody. Attempts were made to prevent anyone from carrying out any protests until the minister left. The police behaved badly near these shops. There were videos of police telling the small shop owners that KTR is coming and they had to shut their shops because of that. The videos related to these incidents are going viral on social media.
Opposition leaders are questioning whether arrests and threats should be made if KTR comes, even if the minister is coming. Critics stated that the TRS leaders are absolutely unable to reach to the masses without the police.
KTR also participated in various development projects as part of his tour of the Mahabubnagar district. Earlier, KTR along with Ministers Srinivas Goud and Prashant Reddy laid the foundation stone for the Perur Upliftment Scheme at Devarakadra Mandal, Venkampally. It is being built at a cost of Rs 55 crore. Later, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of the High-Level Bridge between Varna and Muthialampally in the Addakula Zone. Rs 18 crore will be spent on this. Later, KTR took part in various development projects in Bhutpur town under the auspices of the Municipal Department. The foundation stone was laid for the construction of a mini-stadium, Beatty Road, and Veg and Non-Veg Market to be built in the municipality. Also, 288 double-bedroom houses constructed at Amistapur in the Bhutpur area were unveiled and handed over to the beneficiaries.
