IPS Vinay Tiwari, this name is all over social media and news portals while the #IPSVinayTiwari is seen trending on various platforms. But who is this officer and why is national media and Mumbai police after him..?
Into details, Vinay Tiwari who is serving as Patna (Central) Superintendent turned into the focal point after UP police entrusted him with the investigation into the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. Things started to heat up with the Mumbai police allegedly refrained the officer from stating the probe by forcibly quarantining him.
According to the allegation made by Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey, IPS officer Vinay Tiwari who reached Mumbai from Patna on official duty to lead the police team has been forcibly quarantined by BMC officials at 11 PM on Monday.
Further, the officer also stated that Vinay Tiwari was not provided accommodation in the IPS mess, despite repeated requests and was staying in a Guest House in Goregaon.
The picture of Tiwari’s hand with home quarantine stamp went viral on social media while netizens and ardent Sushant’s fans lashed out on Mumbai police for deliberately throwing hurdles in the case.
While the Patna police claim to take up the case with utmost importance and sincerity, BMC officials move strengthened the rumours of non-cooperation between the two police teams.
With raging criticism from all corners, BMC authorities issued a clarification instructing the Bihar-cadre Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Vinay Tiwari to apply for an exemption in home quarantine period as per the state protocol.
Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey said the Mumbai Police was blocking access to forensic evidence and that the Bihar police still didn’t get the access to Sushant’s post-mortem reports, photographs & videos of the body, and fingerprints collected on June 14.
