Former Indian Cricketer Irfan Pathan gave a sweet shock to his fans and followers on Monday. The hat-trick bowler who is now one of the experts’ panel in ongoing India vs South Africa Test series has announced his acting debut with ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram. Ajay Gnanamuthu who rose to fame with his directorials like ‘Demonte Colony’ and ‘Imaikkaa Nodigal’ struck gold as the cricketer agreed to join the prestigious #Vikram58 bankrolled by V. Lalit Kumar under the banner 7 Screen Studio in association with Viacom 18 Studios.
While asked of why he chose a person who is completely out of the box, director Ajay said that he was impressed with Irfan’s TikTok videos. ‘I want a fresh face for the role of the Turkish police. I happen to watch Irfan’s videos, he did a decent job. I didn’t have a second thought and approached him. He was initially shocked and asked if I was joking. I narrated the script and he didn’t take much time to accept my offer,” he added. “It took me a little time to make up my mind. I have never acted on a professional note before but will wholeheartedly welcome the new challenge,” Irfan said. The cricket who recently turned father took to his official Twitter account to share this big news.
