Azmat Jha will be announced as the 9th Nizam of Hyderabad. There will be an official announcement on February 15. The eldest son of Mukarram Jha’s first wife will continue as the heir. But the members of the Majlis-e-Sahebzadagan Society say that the descendants of the first six Nizam kings are wallowing in poverty.
4000 descendants of Asaf Jahi are getting monthly allowance from Rs.20 to Rs.1000 only. The members of the society appealed to the successor of the future Nizam to increase it. They begged the 7th Nizam, Usman Ali Khan, to fulfill his promise. He said that all the families are being united for the cultural heritage festival to be held in a few days.
The first six descendants of the Nizam lived in abject poverty. Sarf-e-Khas Trust is preparing a list of Sahebzada beneficiaries. Society General Secretary Mohammad Meizuddin Khan said that appropriate recognition is awaited.
On the other hand, the dispute over family lands has been going on in court for 60 years. The Supreme Court has clarified several times that CS-7 and CS-14 lands are private. The land disputes in the name of the Nizam families continue as many times as sales and Gold Stone Prasad sold 98 acres as GPA.
