‘Nobody has the courage to say anything against TRS, nobody has the strength to stand against KCR,’ this was the situation of politics in Telangana once upon a time. Politicians are of opinion that people are really irritated with the words of KCR because of his unrealistic promises and fake assurances. Political pundits believe that TRS managed to come to power for the first time by taking advantage of the Telangana state formation sentiment, then managed to continue being in power by opting for the early elections. Many say that winning the elections for the third time will be a very difficult task. In fact, if we take a look at the promises made by KCR during the elections campaign and the promises fulfilled so far in the last 8 years, there is barely any closeness. People are now aware of the loopholes in the TRS regime and are not taking it anymore. Unlike the previous times, the opposition is now acing up their games and giving a tough competition by taking the issues in the state seriously and questioning the TRS regime. They believe that KCR eventually brought Prashanth Kishore to face the hurdles in the state.
It is very well known that the sole reason behind accomplishing a separate Telangana state was for water, funds, and employment. But there are criticisms that the water was directed to KCR’s Farmhouse, funds to his followers and TRS party leaders, and jobs to the Kalvakuntla family. Keeping aside the aspects of water and funds, the unemployed youth of the state are angry at KCR for releasing no job notifications in the last 8 years. That is why KCR recently announced that the 90,000 jobs are vacant and are ready to be filled. But one thing we must note down is that nowhere in the state, the youth is celebrating this decision by KCR. However, KCR is right now acting outright aggressively fulfilling his promises, but if we step back and take a look at the bigger picture, it feels like he is doing all this just to make sure that he wins the upcoming assembly elections. Analysts say that he is doing these things out of the fear of defeat. It seems like KCR wants to bag another victory by taming the unemployed somehow. But, will the unemployed trust KCR? Or not? this is the real question.
The second aspect of KCR’s aggression is the grain purchases. Everybody assumed that he is up to something very big, and in the end all he did was nothing. Analysts are of the belief that KCR ruined his whole reputation with the way he handled the grain procurement issue. It is said that he struggled to divert the mistake from his side onto the center, and cash out the reputation by blaming the center for all the farmers’ problems, but unlike what he expected, the BJP leaders explained the whole gameplan of KCR to the people of Telangana about signing various papers on not selling the grains to center. With that KCR eventually had to take a u-turn. At some point, KCR also got scared about the possibility of facts coming out if he asks too many questions. Considering all these things, KCR eventually announced that instead of the center, the state government will procure grains from the Yasangi farmers. However, KCR still strongly argues that the entire fault lies with the central government.
KCR first time brought the topic of the Dalit Bandhu scheme during the Huzurabad elections. However, this did not stop the TRS from losing. The plan was then shelved. But in the meanwhile, there is a bit of aggression from the TRS side about this. Distribution of vehicles has started in some places. Moreover, Minister KTR has taken a step forward and said in every meeting that like Dalit Bandhu, he would bring schemes to other castes very soon. The government’s handling of the Dalit Bandhu scheme so suddenly raises many doubts.
KCR once said that a 125-foot Ambedkar statue will be set up near NTR Park in Hyderabad. Although Ambedkar Jayanti and Vardhanthi were taking place, the work on the statue was never openly discussed. But now, KCR and KTR suddenly remembered the Ambedkar statue, even inspected the area and announced that it will be set up by this December. Analysts suspect fear in KCR’s behavior as the elections are approaching. Not only this, but the TRS leaders are also undertaking various development programs in the districts.
Analysts say the aggression in KCR has gone up as PK surveys have found it is difficult for KCR to win a third time. Pundits say that to win the hearts of people, KCR is now taking up the development programs and doing welfare projects. On one hand, they believe that KCR is doing all these things because he is actually planning for the early elections. On the other hand, they say that he is trying to divert people from real issues in the state and trying to play his typical tactics. All in all, analysts say that it is foolish to trust KCR’s words. Many think that there is a huge possibility of witnessing another early election in the state. Moreover, the opposition party leaders and political pundits believe that no matter what KCR does, TRS is definitely going to lose the upcoming assembly elections.
