We have heard our grandfathers and great-grandfathers tell us what the conditions were like in the time of the kings. When we heard the atrocities committed by some kings, we thought of the people of that time and thought it was a pity. We have heard stories of the brutal rule of the Nizam kings, especially on the soil of Telangana. However, the criticism that Telangana CM KCR Nizam is reminding the Nawab is loud. ‘All you must do is only listen to me, nothing more than that, such as the behavior of the Chief Minister of Telangana, at least that’s what people of the state think so. Many incidents are cited as examples of this.
Opposition leaders say that anyone who speaks against the government is getting slammed with illegal cases these days. The ordinary people, opposition leaders, and even journalists, no one is spared in this dictatorial regime. The government is targeting everyone who questions their activities. To put it bluntly, the chief minister is barely respecting anything from the constitution, in fact, he is meeting ministers and MLAs based on his comfort. Many say that the current chief minister KCR is reminding them of the Nizams who used to behave in an arrogant manner with no respect to rules and regulations. On the whole, the idea of following a protocol itself has become a myth.
Just look at the TRS leaders’ Delhi visits- usually, someone from any state on behalf of the government will make an appointment in advance if they go to Delhi. But BJP leaders are criticizing KCR for not following it. Taking a special flight, asking for an appointment after reaching there, then using it politically if he fails to get an appointment. This has become a routine for KCR for years now. It seems like he is following his own constitution as he doesn’t have any respect for the one that is already there. BJP leaders, recalling the manner in which the governor was treated, recalled that her speech before the assembly was also dropped. The TRS members had tarnished the governance in the state in such a way that under the guidance of KCR, no one is following any protocols with respect to the honorable governor Tamilisai. Political pundits say that this behavior of KCR is reminding them of monarchs from medieval history.
Recently, it was announced that Prime Minister Modi was coming to visit Telangana. In general, governments become aware of such news in advance. However, after knowing this news about the PM’s visit, in order to avoid meeting the PM or even welcoming him to the state, KCR ended up planning a sudden visit to Delhi. While Modi was in Telangana, KCR went on traveling to other states until he left. BJP leaders are asking how correct it is for KCR to not respect PM Modi and avoid following protocol. They are incensed that KCR is acting as if “whatever he says or does is correct”.
In fact, there are allegations against KCR that he is destroying the spirit of the existing systems in the state. Opposition parties believe that KCR is consistently altering the rules of the system and administrative activities as per his convenience. Political pundits opine that it is the deeds of KCR that are reflecting his thoughts which are quite absurd and against the democracy.
