It was already known that the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken up the investigation on the sensational rape and murder of Disha taking media reports as a suo-moto. A special team from New Delhi has also made a visit to Mahabubnagar and Chatanpally as a part of investigation followed by a secluded talk with parents and family members of Disha. Amidst the applause from the public and leaders for the bold move of Hyderabad police, the NHRC and few other women organisations condemning the attack received outrage.
While the case is in the Supreme courts with PILs filed by GS Mani and Pradeep Kumar Yadav, and advocate ML Sharma that the encounter was a planned one, High Court advocate Gopalakrishna Kalanidhi made sensational allegations of Hyderabad police, Commissioner Sajjanar in particular. Condemning the encounter of the four accused, Kalanidhi lashed out on the police department for taking the decision to shot the accused even if they retaliated. “While all the women welfare unions who condemned the encounter are banking on NHRC to take action, I strongly believe that the commission came to support the big heads in disguise,” he remarked. He also stated that if NHRC reports state the police to be guilty, according to law, all the responsible ones will be executed under Section 302 of the IPC and challenged the biggies if they are ready for the execution.
“NHRC came to pull Sajjanar out of this case. This might be the reason behind the team from Delhi reaching to Shadnagar first. CP Sajjanar is cleverly taking care of every minute detail of the case attend the Supreme Court hearings also,” said the senior lawyer in an exclusive interview. He then went ahead making sensational comments on Sajjanar during his tenure as SP for CID. However, these comments made by Kalanidhi are now triggering speculations questioning the integrity of NHRC who has been fighting to serve justice.
