Is Telangana turning into Bihar? Attacks if the opposition goes to meet the people of other districts, arrests if they speak against the government, threats if they stand against it. In addition to these, there is violence with open arms. Shockingly, there is no scene of filing an FIR against the culprits even if someone is killed in the middle of the road in the broad daylight. Opposition parties and analysts, including journalists, are having a real tough time in the state of Telangana under KCR’s regime.
Revanth Reddy reminds that Chief Minister KCR himself admitted that his ancestors are from Bihar. Revanth added that KCR mentioned his ancestry in an interview, but stopped telecasting it. However, the leaders of the opposition parties say that Telangana is slowly turning into another Bihar. They also explain the possible reasons for it.
If we take a look at the IAS officers in the state, we can notice that all the key departments are in their hands. Particularly, if we look at senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar, he is playing a key role in the state administration. As Special Chief Secretary he heads several departments. He is also the Commissioner of Information and Public Relations, along with the most important Municipal Administration. In addition to this, he is also the HMDA Commissioner and TUFIDC MD. There are many such departments and branches under Arvind’s control, a Bihari.
In addition to Arvind, Sandeep Kumar Sultania is also from Bihar. He is one of the top IAS officers who have key responsibilities in most of the departments in the Telangana government. To everybody’s surprise, Sandeep looks after 8 key departments simultaneously. Also, Rajat Kumar is a key figure in the Department of Irrigation. After all, CS Somesh Kumar is also from Bihar. There is a huge criticism about KCR’s favoritism among Biharis. Analysts think that KCR is being biased. A senior IAS officer from a former SC social class has announced his voluntary retirement. Later, another senior IPS officer came out questioning the discrimination.
It is believed that the Bihari officers are dominating the competent officers of Telangana, and are demoralizing the mental state of native intellectuals. Analysts believe that the extreme regionalism and loyalty of these Bihari officers to the chief minister is becoming a grave issue for the integrity of native officials. With the entry of PK, analysts are observing some key changes in the administration, especially the reflection of Bihari-style politics in the state.
The recent press meet by KCR is a clear example of Bihari behavior from CM KCR. While the budget meeting lasted an hour and a half, KCR’s speech on bashing the central government and all the BJP front went on for two and half hours. Especially, the language used by the chief minister drew huge criticism and people believe that this kind of behavior from KCR has come out under the directions of PK.
In view of the atrocities and violence that have been going on in the state for some years, political scholars are expressing their displeasure that Telangana is changing into Bihar. There have been allegations that key suspects in the murder of an advocate couple were sidelined from getting punished. Former BJP MP Arvind was attacked while he was traveling in his own constituency to participate in development programs. His car mirrors were smashed. At the same time, a man tried to attack a BJP activist with a knife in public. BJP leaders are questioning if an FIR has been registered against any of them so far. Some years ago, Bandi Sanjay was attacked by men disguised as farmers. Considering all these incidents, analysts believe that Telangana is slowly turning into another Bihar in terms of violence and bad administration.
