Amidst the criticism that the CM isn’t paying attention in drawing investors to set business in the state, Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday met with the business tycoons Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani along with his brothers at Undavalli Camp office. However, what grabbed the attention of political circles is the secrecy around the meeting that went on for half an hour.
The government usually releases an official statement to the media when such crucial meetings take place. But there is no update in the media about this visit. In a cover-up, the YRSCP favoring media circles claimed it be an unscheduled meeting, it had not been officially disclosed to the media.
Followed by the meeting, speculations are rife in state political circles that the Adani brothers had discussed with the chief minister over the legal implications in the sale of the state government’s 10.4 percent stake in the Gangavaram port for a consideration of around Rs 645 crore.
It can be noted that the Adani group already has 89.61 per cent stake in the Gangavaram port. Earlier the Krishnapatnam Dock was acquired by the same Adani Group but the proceedings happened under mysterious events. Based on this a Public Litigation Interest (PIL) has been filed in the AP High Court.
