COVID-19 lockdown has brought new challenged to every possible sector including the education which took a giant leap into the digital world. In the wake of all almost all the educational institutes conducting online classes, the state government has come up with a ‘smart’ proposal which came as good news to the economically backward students.
The state government has come up with a new proposal to distribute smartphones under the range of Rs 5,000 to all the students studying in classes 9 to intermediate. The government intends to involve students in spreading “digital literacy” and simultaneously come up with various innovations.
Besides this, the state government has taken few other key decisions in the review meeting held with Governing Council of the Social Welfare Gurukula Society, chaired by Social Welfare Minister Pinipe Viswarup. It has been decided to set up new IIT training centres at Visakhapatnam, Nellore, Tirupati and Raja Mahendravaram while food preparation and catering to the students will be handed over to outsourcing contracts.
