Former Chief Minister and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday breathed fire on Jagan-led government over the sand policy. Taking to the 12-hour-long fast being staged in Vijayawada, the senior leader alleged that the sand policy created scarcity which in turn led to sand mafia on full-swing with the support of the Chief Minister and his officials. Addressing the party workers and his supporters, Chandrababu lashed out on Jagan that the scarcity is a man-made one while the sand is being illegally exported to the neighbouring states like Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
Offering payers to the portraits of construction workers who took their lives owing to sand shortage and lack of work, Chandrababu started his deeksha in Dharna Chowk. The leader was seen wearing a sand garland offered by one of the party activists. On this note, the senior leader demanded free sand policy immediately. Claiming that the sand policy is the test to YSRCP’s sincerity, Chandrababu came down heavily on Jagan to announce compensation of ₹25 lakh for families of suicide victims and ₹10,000 allowance for building workers. He also slammed the YSRCP leader for making personal attacks on Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan.
