In what can be stated a sweet surprise to own party cadre, YSRCP chief and state Chief Minister Jagan met with the industry giant Mukesh Ambani on Saturday. Amidst the rumours that sparked over mega investments, Reliance Industries Limited chairman and managing director was accompanied by his son Anant Ambani and Rajya Sabha member Parimal Nathwani.
Earlier, Ambani received a grand welcome from Rajya Sabha member and YSRC parliamentary party leader V Vijay Sai Reddy at Gannavaram airport after which the former held a secluded meet. According to the trusted sources, investment and certain crucial project was the main agenda of the surprise meeting. While a few of the party heads speculated that Krishna-Godavari basin agreement near Kakinada is the reason behind the visit.
It is to the known knowledge that Reliance Industries has signed an agreement with the previous government to extract oil and natural gas deposits in the Krishna-Godavari basin near Kakinada. Reliance Industries partnered with Bharat Petroleum Corporation to invest Rs 37,000 crore in the project. The Electric SEZ for which about 150 acres of land near was allotted near Renigunta was also said to be one of the issues discussed. The project was stalled as the farmers approached the court over the compensation.
On the other hand, it was widely talked that Nathwani who accompanied Ambani was on serious trails to get re-elected as a Rajya Sabha MP. With the possibility of this happening fro Andhra Pradesh, Ambani was rumoured to pay a visit to persuade Jagan over the same.
