Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan’s abrupt Delhi visit turned as the talk of the state in the wake of three capital agitations in the state. While the state CM is scheduled to meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at around 4 PM on Wednesday, the sources from the PMO confirmed that it is going to be a 2-hour-long secluded meet which sparked the speculations in political circles. With the ongoing political developments in the state, political analysts speculated the meet to be around the three capital issue and abolition of the state Legislative Council.
It is to the known that central government has been sending signals to the state that it will not, in any circumstances intervene in the State Capital issue, which made it evident that centre refused to support the state’s decision. On this note, Jagan is said to seek Modi’s appointment to persuade him over releasing necessary funds for his decentralisation decision. The Centre’s help and support hold the key for the Chief Minister’s plans upon which the young CM is rumoured to set the differences apart and is ready for the mutual support with BJP-led government.
Apart from these, subjects like special category status to AP, the expeditious release of funds for the Polavaram and the revenue deficit grant will be on the Chief Ministers agenda. Will the Modi-Shah duo heed to Jagan’s plea? A few of the political analysts opined that BJP which was knocked down with a series of failures in North Indian states will act soft with Jagan to reap the mutual benefits.
