In a development that overturned the political speculations in the state, the Andhra Pradesh State BJP Unit on Monday announced JanaSena Chief Pawan Kayan as the Chief Minister candidate on behalf of their alliance. The announcement assumed significance amidst the rumours that the BJP-JanaSena alliance is on the verge of calling splits.
Making the claims made by the JanaSena leaders true, BJP state unit Somu Veerraju made the statement followed by JanaSena Political Affairs Committee (PAC) chairman Nadendla Manohar expressed welcomed the development. “Expressing joy on behalf of every party worker and thanking the BJP, he said: “A leader like Pawan Kalyan is essential for the State,” he added.
Sources also added that Pawan would soon join the week-long poll campaigning of K Ratna Prabha, BJP’s candidate for the upcoming by-election to the Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency. However, the move sparked new theories in political circles while a few analysts opined it to be a honey trap to bank the actor-turned-politicians craze amongst fans and the BC community.
There is no denial in stating that thing took a swift U-turn between JanaSena and BJP after the recent development which drew flak from Janasainiks. As per a few political analysts, the ‘CM Candidate’ announcement right at this stage is to please the Tirupati voters who are upset with BJP for not giving opportunity to contest in by-polls.
