Malls and commercials shops shut down…empty roads flashed the ghostly look on Sunday while millions of citizens voluntarily chose to refrain from coming out. In the wake of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi calling for Janata Curfew, an unprecedented shutdown to break the spreading chain of Coronavirus infections, all the cities in India donned deserted look from the early hours of Sunday.
Except for the businesses and government establishments dealing in essential items and services, all others remained shut. Several public services, including the Railways and metro services, are halted today during the public curfew. States like Odisha, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir have already announced complete lockdown till month end while a couple of states are speculated to declare the same.
On the other hand, all main bus and railway junctions were seen jam-packed while people from all main cities started fleeing to their respective villages to take refugee. Meanwhile, India has reported 6 deaths and 341 cases so far.
