TDP leader JC Diwakar Reddy’s derogatory remarks on police in not time received outrage from all ends of the political spectrum. Alleging that police are harassing TDP cadre pressuring them to join YSRCP the former Anantapur MP said that he will make police officials lick his boots once the party returns to power. Besides the AP Police Association demanding an unconditional apology, JC welcomed rife criticism from his own party leaders over his sharp comments. Hindupuram MP Gorantla Madhav who had been a police officer took no qualms to hit back the remarks made on the police department.
Taking to the media meet, Gorantla cleaned and kissed the boots of a martyr’s in an act to condemn the comments made by JC. “I am dedicating this act of kissing the police shoes as a tribute to police who protect the integrity and sovereignty of the people,” said Gorantla who was seen quite emotional during the press meet. He then challenged the TDP leaders to face Jagan Reddy politically rather than making baseless, senseless comments on police.
