Hyderabad: Veteran actress and ’Maa’ General Secretary Jeevitha Rajasekhar has however reacted on the chaos in the board of administrators in ‘Maa’ association. Responding to the rumours being circulated on social media, the actress-turned-politician clarified the reason behind the abrupt meeting being organised between the board members. Jeevitha opened up on the spat that took place in the meeting held in the ‘Maa’ Producers’ council hall.
It is a known fact that senior actor Naresh won the Presidential elections held by ‘Maa’ while Dr Rajasekhar was elected as Executive President and her wife and actress Jeevitha assumed as the General Secretary for the association. But not many days after the elections took place, the film circles are rife with the rumours that an ugly dispute broke between the board members and the issue also went to court in the verge of solving their differences.
Taking to the media, Jeevitha stated that a meeting was held on Sunday from 9 AM to 5.30 PM to clear out the differences in opinions between 26 committee members. She said the discussion grew into a serious debate while few of the members chose to walk out. “I can strongly say that this is a fruitful meeting. A majority of the members suggested that we should go for an Extraordinary General Body Meeting while we are examining the possibilities by law,” she asserted. ‘Maa’ lawyer Gokul and Vara Prasad who filed a case in the court were also present in the meeting.
Jeevitha also stated that Extraordinary General Body Meeting will be held if 20 per cent of the total 900 members approve it. “If the meeting gets approved, it will be held in the next 21 days and I urge all the members to voice their issues either in person or through emails or posts,” she added.
