Be it JP Nadda, Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, or any other union minister, the one thing everybody is doing is criticizing Chief Minister KCR for the conditions of governance in the state of Telangana. This shows how much the BJP has focused on Telangana. While the dialogue between the TRS and BJP leaders is at its peak, the Congress leaders are openly saying that the two parties are in fact working together to fight them. During Nadda’s visit, and Shah’s, now after Modi’s arrival, the only words coming out of TRS leaders’ were simply: let’s go to the polls.
TRS is daring the Center to dissolve its government and go to the polls. Political analysts are giving out varying opinions questioning on what basis TRS leaders are making such bold statements. There are a number of versions of the possibilities. The MP positions won by TRS in 2014 and 2019 describe the current situation in the state. While there are 17 MP seats in Telangana, TRS won 11 seats in 2014. The same has dropped to 9 positions by 2019. Well, how many will TRS win in 2024? Will it manage to win the majority or not? There are various suspicions regarding that.
KCR is currently talking about national politics and struggling to unite regional parties. No one is coming forward in aiding KCR. However, he is stepping toward the front to fight the presidential elections. It must be noted that a coalition without Congress means an impossible task. Analysts say it is impossible for the parties to break out of the UPA alliance and come out believing in KCR. On the other hand, Congress Party declared war on the TRS with the widely popular Warangal Declaration. This implies that Congress is far from joining the KCR front, and analysts expect the regional parties in the UPA alliance to distance themselves as well.
Even though KCR’s words might get traction with respect to the Presidential election, they say that the chances of what is expected in the case of the alliance are very low. Analyzing the courage of the TRS leaders challenging the Center to dissolve power and come for polling, analysts say that those are empty words meaning nothing less than trying to respond to BJP’s claims and challenges against KCR and TRS party.
Opposition to the government has soared in the state as well, with people angry at the TRS leaders as they are utterly failing to fulfill the promises made. In addition to that, the consistent strengthening of Congress and the BJP parties is said to cause serious damage in the long run. All in all, it is certain that the TRS will have a tough time both nationally and in the state. Despite being aware of their reputation, the TRS leaders are faking courage and pride which in fact is fear and anxiety.
