The new Telangana Secretariat will be inaugurated on February 17th, 2023. The work related to this is going on smoothly. As the same day was CM KCR’s birthday, there was more excitement in the ranks of BRS. However, the opposition is criticizing the inauguration of the secretariat on KCR’s birthday. Among the opposition leaders, KA Paul took a step forward and stepped into the court.
Paul filed a PIL in the High Court challenging the opening of a new Telangana secretariat on KCR’s birthday. The court was asked to direct the inauguration of the new secretariat on April 14th, Ambedkar’s birth anniversary instead of February 17. He said that since the secretariat was named after Ambedkar, it was appropriate to inaugurate it on his birth anniversary. KA Paul has added CMO and Chief Secretary as defendants in this case as a party in person.
Paul has been wronging KCR’s decision from the beginning. They are passing satires saying that if it is opened on KCR’s birthday, the secretariat can be named KCR Bhavan. Some also opined that KCR claims to be the father of the nation and wanted to start the secretariat on his birthday. They are demanding that the secretariat be opened on Ambedkar Jayanti itself.
Moreover, Paul bashed KCR for building a new secretariat while the state was in debt of 5 lakh crores. Ambedkar’s followers have called for a siege of the Secretariat if the inauguration is done on February 17. Paul strongly criticized that this government will not change its behavior no matter how much the High Court throws at it. He filed a PIL in this order.
