Crime Bureau, Tolivelugu: Popular opinion in the entire state is that the sole purpose of the Kaleshwaram project was to amass a huge amount of money for the contractors. The proof of that is the deal involving the purchase of motors. For a whopping amount of Rs 7349 crores, Megha made and Nava Yuga made an agreement with the KCR government on providing pumps, and motors for 6, 8, 10, and 11 packages out of 28. Though it has been more than a year since the details were demanded through RTI, nothing about the number of pumps and motors actually supplied was released. As a result, the information had to be collected through BHEL who supplied it. Officials revealed the truth behind the scenes. They said that the motors suitable for only four packages were provided and that at the price of only Rs1686 crores. These results reveal that a scam of Rs 5,662 crore has taken place.
Was fraud done in each package?
Rs 531 crore worth of motors supplied by BHEL in the 6th package. For this, Megha and Navayuga companies have made the agreement valuing Rs 2251 crore. The difference between these is Rs 1720 crores. The total value of 6 packages is 4823 crores. It means that if we spend about 1720 crores on motors alone, then the cost of civil work and tons will be at least 1000 crores.
Rs 529 crores in package 8 to BHEL Motors. But they gave their value in the agreement as Rs 2548 crores. The difference is 2018 crores. The total value of this package is Rs 4756 crores. BHEL has supplied Rs 306 crore motors in Package 10, as per the sources. But the government has signed an agreement with these for Rs 1117 crores. The total value of this package is 2648 crores. 812 crores were stolen from motors alone. A similar pattern was observed in Package 11. While only Rs 320 crores were paid, Rs 1431 crore was the amount mentioned in the agreement. Where did the Rs 1110 crore go? The value of this package is 3672 crores.
If we look at the BHEL motors transaction alone, it can be noticed that they committed a scam worth Rs 5662 crores, with this we can only imagine up to what extent they have done scams in the other projects. Meanwhile, considering KCR’s proclamation that ‘we are working without any tolerance for corruption, we have to wait and see what will be his response to the RTI.
What about the Assembled motors?
For the works related to the unification of the Godavari and Krishna rivers, the motors from Dummugudem have been moved to Pattiseema Project in AP. This project was initiated back then by the Congress government in the name of ‘Rajiv Sagar’, where the fitting of pipelines and motors was done at a cost of Rs 1600 crore. No company stepped forward considering the difficult deadlines set by the then AP government which demanded the project to be wrapped up within a year. But Megha Krishna Reddy came to the fore, he allegedly picked the motors set up in Dummugudem, and created fake bills that have the addresses and details stating that the motors are received from other countries, and are received through Chennai port.
Projecting it as the work finished before the promised timelines, Megha gained incentives from the government, where in reality the motors allotted to Telangana were shifted and the total benefit they made was more than Rs 2000 crore. It is believed that a total of Rs 10,000 crore scam has happened in this, and there is evidence proving the same.
None of the agreements are revealed
The agreement stating the details of the contract between the government and the contractor, the stature of the warranty and guarantee- none of these are revealed to the public and the terms and conditions were designed as it pleases them. Now after the motors are fully submerged, the matter is being discussed. Now as per the sources, KCR, after turning a surplus state like Telangana into a debt-ridden state is now struggling to manage and run the state financially.
