The efforts to erect a splendid set for a prestigious movie ended up taking the lives of three workers who sweat out to meet the ends. The accident which also injured nine others took place on the shooting spot of ‘Indian-2’, the upcoming flick of Kamal Haasan helmed by star director Shankar. Sources said Krishna, an assistant director, and production assistants Madhu and Chandran lost their lives in the accident on the spot while the other injured are rushed to the nearest hospitals.
Into details, the accident took place on Wednesday night at the EVP Film City near Poonamallee on the outskirts of Chennai during the shoot. Reportedly, main lead Kamal Haasan and director Shankar were also present on the sets when the accident took place. Thought the accident news broke out earlier on Wednesday, the reason behind remained unknown until a few of the eyewitnesses took to social media to reveal the details. A crane which was used to construct the sets fell on the crew at around 10 pm on Wednesday. No sections have been included and no arrests have been made in connection to the deaths so far.
Actor Kamal Haasan and the production house Lyka Productions took to their social media handles to express condolences to the bereaved families.
