Calling adieus to the traffic woes in Vijayawada especially at the Kanaka Durga temple premises, Andhra government is set to inaugurate the Kanaka Durga flyover. After many postponements, AP government announced that the flyover will be inaugurated virtually by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari on September 18.
However, like any other issue in AP, the flyover inauguration as well turned debatable in the state political circles with the ruling and opposition resorting into a verbal tug of war for the credits. While the ruling YSRCP leaders claim that they have wrapped up the construction in just 14 months, the main opposition TDP didn’t take qualms to hit back with their arguments.
According to the TDP, it had played a crucial role in drawing funds from the central government while almost Rs 333.21 crores were spent on the flyover. They also claimed that almost 70 per cent of the construction is completed in their tenure and that YSRCP is all into stealing the credit.
Amidst which BJP government stole the spark stating that the party leaders who are continuously in touch with high command played a crucial role in completing the major projects in the state. It can be recalled that Congress in 2018 staged a protest against the delay in the construction of the flyover.
However, the citizens welcomed the inauguration of the flyover which was one of the most waited projects in AP irrespective of the party involved.
