While the state continued to register a sharp spike in corona positive cases, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa(77) had announced that he had tested positive for the disease. Taking to his official Twitter handle, the BJP leader stated that he is clinically stable and is under medical supervision.
While his whole family was tested recently as part of the routine weekly tests he undergoes along with his staff, Yediyurappa’s daughter Padmavathi has also tested positive for the virus. Chief Minister’s son, Vijayendra, has tested negative.
I have tested positive for coronavirus. Whilst I am fine, I am being hospitalised as a precaution on the recommendation of doctors. I request those who have come in contact with me recently to be observant and exercise self quarantine.

Confirming the same, Manipal Hospital said in a statement on Monday stating-“Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa has been admitted to the hospital for observation. He will be monitored closely by our team.”
On this note, the Chief Minister’s media team has requested those who had come in contact with him to be wary of COVID symptoms and self-isolate.
The news came hours after the Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that he tested positive while the BJP main pawn is all set to join the mega bhoomi poojan celebrations at Ayodhya.
