Hyderabad: Though it is a by-polls election for a resigned assembly seat, the recent Huzurnagar election was taken on a serious note by the ruling TRS party. Amidst CPI withdrawing its support and TSRTC strike taking its severe form were speculated to hinder the victory of the ruling party, S. Saidi Reddy gabbed the Huzurnagar assembly seat from the Congress party with a majority of over 43,000 votes. Basking in the glory of the success, the Chief Minister hit the tabloid headlines with his controversial comments on RTC employees and the strike calling it a dumb one.
And now, the party chief has called on for a massive public meeting at Huzurnagar to thank the citizen who gave them a thumping victory. High-security arrangements were made in all the roads leading to the grounds. About 2,000 policemen are deployed around the city to avoid any untoward incidents. However, the arrangement couldn’t help the emergency services as witnessed today. Thousands of vehicles which followed the CM convoy has gridlocked the traffic all along Suryapet highway. Amidst this, an ambulance was seen stuck in the traffic for almost 20 minutes. To everyone’s surprise, the traffic police who are supposed to clear the way for the ambulance turned a blind eye. This drew flak from commuters around.
