TPCC Chief Revanth Reddy reminded that even though some mistakes were made during Nizam’s rule, many welfare programs were undertaken. He said that Congress will not support those mistakes, and paid tribute to the late Nizam Mukarram Jha who passed away recently. Mukarram’s last rites were welcomed by the government with full formality. He said that those who make a mistake in this decision must have a mental disability.
He said that the current political leaders boasted that they had ruled for only 5 or 10 years and developed it, while the Nizam Nawabs ruled Hyderabad for 220 years and worked for the development of all sections of the people. He reminded everyone of many projects they undertook, such as Osmania university and industries that have been set up for agriculture, education, medicine, and employment.
Revanth accused the KCR government of selling the wealth of the Nizams. He demanded that the government name the last Nizam’s name for a great work that everyone is proud of. He suggested that the government should discuss with everyone in the assembly and take a decision on what kind of program to undertake.
Mukarram Jha’s body is kept at Chaumahalla Palace in Old Basti. Revanth was accompanied by many leaders including Shabbir Ali, Feroz Khan, Sameer Wali Ullah, and Uzma Shakir.
