BJP leader Vijayashanti said that the assurances given by KCR were like laying ladders to the sky. ‘It’s all words and no action’, she claimed. She went on to say that all the assurances made by KCR are unfulfilled and are simply piling up. “The people of Warangal are now taking onto roads demanding the houses they were promised. KCR himself promised that in a few years, there won’t be any huts in the Warangal district, and all of them will be replaced with Double Bedroom houses. But, nothing has been done so far. The poor are carrying out protests demanding what they were promised,” said Vijayshanthi.
She said the poor were struggling to pay thousands of rupees a month for the rented houses, and are ready to fight the KCR government. “Poor people are erecting huts in the public places. These are being demolished by Revenue and Police officials by JCBs. The poor are outraged at the officials setting their huts on fire in some places. They are questioning the morality behind taking down their huts without delivering the double bedroom houses they were promised,” said Vijayashanti.
“Officials, who never cared about the rich encroaching thousands of acres of government land are now getting all serious on the poor people laying huts in the government lands. Is the TRS regime capable of nothing more than attacking the homes of the underprivileged people?” fired Vijaysahanthi. She went on to mention that the poor of Warangal have been carrying on their protests in some form or other for two weeks.
She went on to say that Warangal is not the only place where such things are happening, adding that the same is happening in the whole of Telangana. The BJP leader then concluded that the people of Telangana are agitated at KCR’s incompetent regime and they will overthrow the TRS government very soon.
