Former MP Ponnam Prabhakar criticized the BRS party president and Telangana CM KCR. He commented that KCR, who made Telangana non-existent by putting BRS, is now sacrificing Godavari water for his political interests.
He said that KCR saying that Sriram Sagar project water will help Maharashtra is a desperate betrayal of Telangana. He said that if Sri Rama Sagar, like Jeevan’s, is handed over to Maharashtra, the catchment area of the project will become a graveyard. He said that the areas of Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Adilabad, Warangal, Khammam, and Nalgonda will be changed and the SRSP flood canal project will be wasted.
Ponnam Prabhakar said that the Telangana movement came for irrigation and if the project, which is now Telangana’s right, is handed over to Maharashtra, people will beat KCR. We have made many movements about the Babli and other projects being washed by Maharashtra on the Godavari, and now if we see them draining that water, will we be left alone? He deposed that.
He deposed that those who fought on Babli are now ministers and they have a say in this matter. He warned that the decision should be taken back, otherwise there will be no farmers’ movement. Besides this, Ponnam Prabhakar strongly criticized the arrest of Congress leaders during KTR’s visit. “Arresting activists two days before KTR’s visit is absolutely unethical,” he said.
