The recent drug bust in Telangana state has become the topic of discussion. With dozens of people getting caught while trading drugs and hundreds of people consuming them, scholars are now worrying that Telangana is on the brink of becoming the hub of drugs in the country. Amid all these speculations, BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleged that TRS leaders and close associates of Chief Minister KCR were behind the ongoing drug racket in the state. With Hyderabad becoming a haven for drugs, there is a debate going on across the country for the people of Telangana to take a stand. The investigation has revealed that the drug dealing affair has come to light since 2017. Celebrities have been involved. People now want to know what happened in the trial of the next day and what was achieved in that case.
Bandi questioned why the state government did not respond properly when asked by the Central Enforcement Directorate officials to submit the case records and evidence of the day. He went on to say that the people who are involved in the racket are the close associates of the CM and that is the reason they didn’t cooperate with the ED, as they were scared about giving the details out of fear that their names would come out if evidence was submitted to the ED. “Hyderabad has become a haven for drugs, drunkards, and mafias. The lives of the youth are being ruined. Parents are scared. KCR has no responsibility to eradicate drugs because he is not conscious of the situation in the state. “In those days there was a movie about drugs in Punjab, called ‘Udta Punjab’ came. Now ‘Udta Hyderabad’ has to be made. Drugs are the reason for the collapse of the government in Punjab. They will be the reason behind TRS’ downfall too,” said Bandi.
Bandi also recalled the incident in which seventeen IT employees who were taking drugs recently were sacked by their respective companies. He criticized KCR for doing nothing but swearing in the name of reviews. He questioned KCR about what happened to the thousand people committee that was promised years ago. He also made some satires like ‘forget about the thousand men committee, more than thousand new victims to drugs were caught so far. It is alleged that KCR did drama in the name of investigation in the drug case before March 2017. Bandi added that back then Akun Sabharwal worked honestly as a hero and made a list of people involved in the racket, but KCR came in the middle and disrupted him. He recalled that Sabharwal had left the trial and gone to Delhi as he faced intense pressure from the TRS government. On the whole, Bandi firmly believes that TRS is directly or indirectly playing a huge role in this whole drug racket.
“At the time, the media reported that many names had come out of the arrest and trial of a man named Kelvin. What happened to that case? The CM should have revealed the details about the whole issue. On February 2nd, ED filed a complaint against the state government for not giving them access to the records, pieces of evidence, and other details. They wanted to do a full-fledged investigation about this, but the state government did not cooperate at all. Responding to the ED’s request, the apex court then entered the scene. They directed the state government to submit all the details and records sought within a month. The High Court bench, which took the matter seriously, issued notices to the state chief minister and excise commissioners in the name of contempt of court. Why is KCR’s government not giving the drugs case details to the authorities? How can he disrespect the orders of the High Court? There is something secret behind this. KCR family members might be involved in the drugs affair, or maybe the TRS party leaders. Or they must be minting large sums of money in the name of this business. This could be the reason why the state government is not giving evidence and records to the whole. There is a link between the drug business and terrorism. The Taliban are running the state over opium (OPM). In the past, people like Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel were all in the drug business in Mumbai. There are some leaders who cultivate international relations through drugs. KCR may also want to increase international relations in the name of the drug business,” said Bandi Sanjay.
Sanjay said the state is currently in a situation where employees could not be paid. Another 15 districts in the state are heavily criticized by the people for not paying salaries and saying that they don’t have enough money. The drug business in pubs has been there for ages. He was aggravated by the government for giving permission for pubs to remain open throughout the day while putting heavy restrictions on the DJ. Bandi further posed questions like how many people’s samples were collected after the drug bust. It is alleged that the CM was ordering the case to be watered down without priority. “In areas near Shamshabad and Jubilee Hills, over 45 pubs are open 24 hours a day till dawn. How many of them have permission to remain open for 24 hours a day?” said Sanjay. He said there were three or four pubs running under a single license name. He said the allegations against the family members who are unrelated to drugs were unfair and asked what would happen to the people of the state if Hyderabad, the capital city becomes a haven for drugs.
“Cannabis is being smuggled in along with drugs in the state. Cannabis is coming from the neighboring state. Cannabis is also being supplied in jails. Children’s lives are being ruined. Parents’ hearts are being broken. Even when the situation is so bad, the CM’s response is barely visible. If the TRS government does not take appropriate action, just the way people took down the government of Punjab on the basis of a lack of action against drugs, the same will repeat in Telangana. He said that people themselves will bring down the government of Punjab one day. Why is the CM hesitant to test drugs? Concerns will be raised under the auspices of the apex court. Why is the CM hesitating to get a drugs test? The conspiracy is to protect the TRS leaders. The BJP does not sit idly by. BJP Youth Morcha under Bhanu Prakash will lead the protests and do rallies against this. There is no point in releasing the culprits until the details of the drugs case are known and they are arrested and prosecuted, “said Bandi Sanjay.
Bandi Sanjay also responded to the governor controversy. “KCR is a person who has no respect for the governor and the constitution. That is why he says he will rewrite the constitution. If at all he becomes the Prime Minister by any chance, then he will also question the necessity of the President, and the United Nations itself,” said Bandi, who also added that the governor never spoke politics, and was never a controversial person.
“I think KCR would be happier if he gets to work with a governor who simply puts signatures on the files that send criminals to the parliament? In fairness, in accordance with constitutional provisions, a governor who thinks for the people is not a good person according to KCR. Imagine what would be the situation if the governor is also a kind of person who wants to restrict themselves to the farmhouse just like KCR?” said Bandi, adding that no farmers are cooperating with TRS in their dharnas because they themselves were having a rough time in the state because of KCR’s false promises and failed policies. “In fact, the TRS leaders are forcing the farmers to participate in the dharnas against the center,” he mentioned. Sanjay firmly stated that the people and farmers were in strong opposition to the KCR’s regime and the TRS’ stature of being in power is utterly fragile, and might collapse any day soon.
