The kidnap case of the nine-year-old Deekshith Reddy (9) ended as a tragedy as the police recovered the partially-burnt and decomposed body of the kid on Thursday. While the kid was kidnapped on Sunday by mechanic Manga Sagar who was familiar to Deekshith’s family for many years, Rs 45 lakhs were demanded to release the boy.
They also threatened to kill Deekshith if the matter is disclosed to the police. Though Deekshith’s parents didn’t have the amount, they agreed to arrange the amount which was instructed to be brought to at 1 pm on Wednesday at ‘Moodu Kotla’. However, Deekshith’s father headed back the kidnappers did not show up.
Meanwhile, the police who intensified the search operations to trace the boy arrested the accused and found the boy dead. “The boy was killed the same day. Sagar feared that the boy will disclose his identity if he was released. So he decided to kill the boy and then demand the ransom,” revealed Mahabubabad district superintendent of police Koti Reddy during a recent press conference.
On the other hand, reports floated that police encountered the accused who is under police custody. Addressing the same, Koti Reddy refuted the rumours stating that all the four accused are safe including the man named Manoj Kumar who actually hatched the kidnap plan.
