Hyderabad: The news that Income Tax officials conducted flash rides on Asian Cinema & Multiplexes Private Limited has set ripples in the Tollywood industry. Sunil Narang, the head of Asian Groups is one of the highly respected people in the film circles and the searches have come as shock. Besides, their ventures in distribution and production, the Asian Groups also owned multiplexes in the twin cities and has recently entered into a partnership with AMB Cinemas, a multiplex mall owned by Superstar Mahesh Babu. And according to the latest gossip in the tinsel town is that the IT officials have plans for Mahesh Babu also. However, the rumour mongers shared that a series of calls from minister KTR has exempted Mahesh from the raids. This has triggered debates in both the political and film fraternities who opined that though government backing film industry is a good omen, exceptions are not of course appreciable.
