Haryana has recently witnessed frequent landslides and deaths of locals. Recently a similar incident took place once again. Four girls have been killed in a landslide near the town of Mewat. Sources reveal that these five girls from Kangarka village went to fetch mud for the houses, and suddenly the landslides broke while digging the soil.
Four died on the spot and one was seriously injured. Upon learning of the matter, villagers rushed to the spot and exhumed the bodies. The deceased have been identified as Vakila (19), Janista (18), Taslima (10), and Gulapsha (9). Another girl, Sofia, was rushed to hospital with injuries. Police have registered a case over the incident and are investigating.
Also a week ago, four people were killed in a landslide in the Bhiwani district of Haryana. CM Manoharlal Khattar expressed shock over the incident. Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala alleged that the government was not controlling mining.
