It was the fact before almost four days that Andhra Pradesh is amongst the states with a minimal number of Corona positive cases. But things took a swift turn with devotees who attended Nizamuddin congregation turning positive exponentially. Within a couple of days, the aggregated number of cases in the state reached 180 by Saturday while the state recorded the highest single-day hike.
Meanwhile, the state health department has been facing criticism over hiding the number of positive cases and Corona deaths. While the first death took place on March 30, the government revealed it on April 3rd in its health bulletin, three days after the incident took place in Vijayawada. It was learnt that the central government updated the numbers even before the state health authorities acknowledged the death.
As Andhra Pradesh tested 1,800 samples, 180 have tested positive and results of 445 samples are under progress. To everyone’s shock, Telangana has provided no updates on samples tested so far while 229 coronavirus cases were registered with 11 deaths. Compared to the other Southern states, the health departments of AP and Telangana were observed sending less umber of swabs for novel virus’ confirmation.
According to the official reports, Kerala has sent 9,139 samples, Tamil Nadu has tested 3,684 samples and Karnataka has collected 4,587 samples till date. On the whole, over 69,000 samples tested in India which is very less than when compared to the other nations combating the dreadful novel Coronavirus.
