While the movies that slated for the release on the same date has been struggling for the promotions, this one movie has a laid back pre-release phase. The name and the storyline stood as a USP which drew the attention of the media and influencers which created hype around the flick. Though was launched as yet another biopic in a roll of such films this year, the trailer created noise like never before which seems to break the chain of normalcy. Hitting the theatres on Friday, ’George Reddy’ had the media folk and student union leaders rather the normal audiences. George Reddy is the student leader who studied in Osmania University (OU) campus in the late 60s and early 70s setting history with his student union PDSU.
However, the movie didn’t seem to reach the hype set by the most-happening trailers and posters. The Jeevan Reddy’s directorial came as a major disappointment apart from the performance of lead actor Sandeep Madhav. It has become like the one-man show while the styling and cinematography supported his performance. Female lead Muskaan played a decent portion. Abhay who was previously stereotyped for comic roles got a character with scope for performance. It was evident that the team had productional setbacks which have become the major drawback for the film. For a film around the life of a young and dynamic student leader, the team needs to have strong and in-depth research on his life or political liberty to portray the new story. Rounding this off, the team has again killed the spirit of George Reddy!
