Followed by a series of interrogation into the reasons behind the disastrous car leak accident at LG Polymers, Andhra Pradesh High Court on Sunday issued interim directions to seize the premises of the LG Polymers Company in Visakhapatnam.
In the line of orders issued by the division bench comprising Chief Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheswari and Justice Lalita Kanneganti, none will be allowed inside the premises including the directors without obtaining prior permission from the court.
Expressing discontent over the State government, the High Court has asked the government to explain as to who gave permission to the company to restart its operations though the lockdown was still in force. It is to the known knowledge that the court has taken suo motu cognizance of the Vizag gas leak and also heard two petitions filed on the incident which claimed 12 lives.
High Court also ordered that none of the assets, movable or immovable, fixture, machinery and contents shall be allowed to be shifted. National Green Tribunal (NGT) has already slapped of fine of Rs 50 crore on the company and set up a five-member committee to inspect the site and submit a report. The matter was further posted to be taken up next on May 28.
