Hours after the incident of postman turning into a super-spreader at a village in Wanaparthy district infecting nearly 110 villagers came into limelight, a similar incident in Khammam came as a shocker in Telangana. But this time is the community lift which acted as a super-spreader infecting as many as 20 residents in the span of two weeks.
Into details, an unknown corona positive resident of the five-floor apartment near bypass crossroads apparently used the lift which triggered virus spread amongst the residents. Community authorities confirmed the ‘lift speculation’ as none of the ground floor residents tested positive.
The corona positive 20 residents confirmed that except for using the lift they haven’t come into contact with any infected. The officials reportedly sanitised the lift and the infected persons were advised to remain in home isolation.
This has come as a wakeup call for various communities and apartment groups in the state which tend you use common elevators. According to the advisories form officials, the apartment authorities are instructed to sanitise the life buttons frequently.
