ED custody of two accused in the Delhi Liquor Scam case which created a sensation across the country has ended. The CBI special court issued orders extending the custody of Vijay Nair and Abhishek Boinapalli. On the request of the ED officials, the order has been issued extending the custody for another five days. On November 14, Rouse Avenue Court remanded Abhishek Rao and Vijay Nair to 5 days of custody.
As it ended today, the ED officials produced them in court. A petition was filed for an extension of custody. The court heard this in the afternoon. This allowed them to be in custody for another 5 days. The next hearing was adjourned to November 24.
The court has already extended the custody of Sarath Chandra Reddy and Binoy Babu in the same case. The custody of Sarath Chandra Reddy and Binoy Babu has been extended till November 21. On the other hand, as part of the investigation, ED officials questioned Robin Distilleries director Arun Ramachandra Pillai and charted accountant Gorantla Buchibabu on Friday. It is reported that they were questioned about the money smuggled to Delhi from the South Lobby Group.
As part of the liquor scam, the ED conducted searches in 40 parts of the country at the same time. But it is noteworthy that people from Telangana, AP, and Tamil Nadu are mainly involved in this Delhi liquor scam.
