The ED officials are not letting go of those arrested in the liquor scam case. They continue to approach the court for an extension of custody. The court recently extended the custody of Sarath Chandra Reddy and Binay Babu for 14 days. The case was heard at Rouse Avenue Court. On this occasion, the court granted judicial custody at the request of ED.
Binoy Babu and Sarath Chandra Reddy have been given permission to provide some facilities in the jail. The court said OK for water flask and home meals and allowed to use BP medicines, cold clothes, and shoes. It has issued orders to the authorities to provide treatment to both of them in jail. The ED brought to the notice of the court that the investigation in the money laundering case is pending.
The Rouse Avenue court adjourned the next hearing to May 5. The hearing on the bail petitions of the accused has been postponed to the 24th of this month. Aurobindo Director Sarath Chandra Reddy and Pernod Ricard International Brands General Manager Binay Babu were arrested a few days ago by the Enforcement Directorate and taken into custody. In this case, the ED officials interrogated both of them for more than ten days.
As the investigation of the case is at a critical stage, the ED officials approached the court last week to extend the custody of the duo, but they agreed to four-day custody. During the investigation, many things are coming to light and in such circumstances, the two have been asked to be remanded in custody. In this order, the court extended the custody for 14 days. Sarath Chandra Reddy’s wife Kanika Reddy was also questioned by ED officials in this case.
