The nine-month governance in Andhra Pradesh has thrown enough challenges for Jagan and his team, while it has been juggling with a number of controversies. By the time the Amaravati agitations is still going on, the Election Commission announced the schedule for local body elections which heated up the state politics.
Amidst the never-ending fuming allegations between the ruling and opposition parties, the elections took political hue. The EC started taking nominations for the polls scheduled to take place in two phases will be held on the 27th and 29th of this month.
With the elections right around the corner, the Jagan government has taken an interesting decision. The government announced that including the respective sarpanch would receive a cash prize if the ward member is unanimously elected. According to the population of the village, an economic incentive of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 20 lakh will be provided in the village panchayat. Reportedly, the Panchayat raj has already submitted all necessary papers and a G.O will be released any time soon.
